BISP Update: Beneficiaries with Expired ID Card will Receive Payment from June, Check Details

The government has announced that beneficiaries who were unable to receive their payments due to expired CNICs (Computerized National Identity Cards) will be eligible to collect their payments starting from June 1, 2025, once they renew their CNICs.

What Happened?

Thousands of eligible beneficiaries under government welfare programs, such as the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) or Ehsaas Kafalat Program, were recently blocked from receiving their payments. The main reason was the expiry of their CNICs, which are required for biometric verification and identity confirmation during payment distribution.

Why CNIC is Important for Payments?

  • Identity Verification: Payments are only made to verified individuals.
  • Fraud Prevention: An active CNIC ensures payments go to the rightful person.
  • System Compliance: All welfare programs are linked with NADRA (National Database & Registration Authority) data, which blocks expired CNICs automatically.

How Many People Are Affected?

As per internal reports from social welfare authorities:

  • Over 300,000 beneficiaries across Pakistan have been affected due to expired CNICs.
  • A majority of these are women enrolled in the BISP or Ehsaas Kafalat Program.
  • Some reports suggest that 70% of blocked payments occurred in rural areas, where CNIC renewals are often delayed due to lack of access.

What Happens If CNIC Is Not Renewed?

If you do not renew your CNIC:

  • You will remain ineligible to receive your monthly payments.
  • The system will continue to block your record.
  • Your payments may lapse after a fixed grace period set by the program (usually 6 months to 1 year).

What You Should Do Now?

  1. Visit NADRA Center
Go to your nearest NADRA office to renew your CNIC immediately. The basic renewal fee is approximately Rs. 400 (normal service).
  2. Carry Required Documents
    • Expired CNIC
    • Proof of enrollment (if required by the welfare program)
  3. Biometric Verification
Make sure your fingerprints and photo are updated during the CNIC renewal process.
  4. Link with Welfare Program Again
Once your CNIC is renewed, visit your local BISP or Ehsaas registration center to update your information.
  5. Wait for Confirmation
After verification, you will receive a message on your registered phone number stating that your payment will be available from June 1, 2025.

Where Will You Get the Payment?

Payments will be disbursed through:

  • Designated Campsites
  • Habib Bank Limited (HBL) ATMs
  • Biometric Agents (like JazzCash and HBL Konnect)

Make sure you carry:

  • Renewed CNIC
  • Original payment SMS (if applicable)

Government Message for Affected Individuals:

“No eligible person will be left behind. All beneficiaries whose payments were delayed due to expired ID cards should renew them before May 31, 2025, to receive their rightful amount from June 1, 2025.”

Final Advice:

Don’t wait till the last moment. Renew your CNIC as soon as possible to avoid further delays. The government has assured that all blocked payments will be cleared starting from June 1, 2025, only if the CNIC is active and verified.
