BISP Announced to Add 1 Million More Beneficiaries by the end of NSER Survey in June 2025

The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has announced that it will expand its Kafalat program by including 1 million more women by the end of NSER survey which is going to end on June 30, 2025. This expansion is part of a broader plan to help more low-income families in Pakistan. Currently, 9.3 million women are getting financial aid through the Kafalat program. By the end of 2025, the number of recipients is expected to rise above 10 million.

Key Updates and Details:

1. Enrollment through NSER Survey

The National Socio-Economic Registry (NSER) survey is being updated to identify new deserving families. This survey will be completed by June 2025, and based on its findings, one million more women will be added to the program.

2. Increased Financial Assistance

Starting from January 2025, the government has increased the quarterly cash payment for Kafalat beneficiaries from Rs. 10,500 to Rs. 13,500. This increase aims to support families in managing the impact of inflation and rising costs.

3. More Banks for Payment Distribution

To make it easier for women to get their payments, BISP is now working with six banks. These include:

  • Habib Bank Limited (HBL)
  • Bank Alfalah
  • Bank of Punjab
  • Mobilink Microfinance Bank (JazzCash)
  • Telenor Microfinance Bank (Easypaisa)
  • HBL Microfinance Bank

These banks will help distribute the funds more quickly and safely across Pakistan.

4. Skill Development Program

In addition to financial support, BISP is also launching a skill development initiative for women. Around 9.3 million families will benefit from this training. The program will offer certified courses that can help women start their own small businesses or find jobs, making them more self-reliant.

5. Government Budget Support

The government has shown strong support for BISP by increasing its budget. For the year 2024-25, the program has been allocated Rs. 598.71 billion, which is 27% more than last year. This funding ensures that the program can continue to grow and reach more families in need.

How to Register for the Kafalat Program

Eligible families can register for the Kafalat program in two main ways:

  • Visit a nearby BISP Tehsil Office and complete the NSER survey. Bring your CNIC, income proof, and utility bill.
  • Or, check your eligibility through the BISP 8171 Web Portal or by sending your CNIC number via SMS to 8171.

The BISP Kafalat Program is taking major steps to fight poverty and support women in Pakistan. With increased financial aid, more accessible banking options, and a new skill development program, millions of families will receive much-needed help. By mid-2025, the total number of women benefiting from this initiative will cross the 10 million mark, making it one of the largest social welfare efforts in the country.
