Chicken Rate Today; Big Drop in Poultry Prices Across Markets

Lahore, April 30, 2025: Poultry prices in Pakistan have seen a significant decline, bringing relief to consumers nationwide. Last month, chicken prices soared to a high of Rs. 800 per kg due to supply constraints and high demand during Ramadan. However, market sources confirm that prices have now dropped sharply to Rs. 440 per kg, a decrease of nearly 45%, driven by improved supply and reduced feed costs.

According to the Pakistan Poultry Association, the stabilization of poultry feed prices and an increase in broiler production have contributed to this downward trend. Local market committees report that the retail price of broiler chicken meat is now averaging Rs. 440 per kg across major cities like Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. Consumers are welcoming the change, with many expressing hope that prices remain stable.

Market experts link the price decrease to an excess of live birds and improved poultry farm management. ‘The industry has recovered from last month’s losses due to high production costs,’ said a representative from the Lahore market committee. ‘The rise in supply has played a major role in reducing prices.
