CM Punjab Tubewell Solarization Phase 1 Just About to End – Check Your Details Now
Launched by CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif in December 2024, the Tubewell Solarization Program converts 8,000 electric/diesel tubewells to solar energy in Phase 1, completing by June 30, 2025. Part of the PKR 64 billion Kissan Package, it reduces irrigation costs (PKR 50/acre vs. PKR 1,500–3,000) and promotes sustainability.
Phase 1 Details
- Completion Date: June 30, 2025, with 50% (4,000 tubewells) by April 2025.
- Target: 8,000 tubewells across 36 districts.
- Budget: PKR 9,887.42 million (PKR 2,500 million for 2024–25).
- Subsidies:
- 10 kW: PKR 500,000.
- 15 kW: PKR 750,000.
- 20 kW: PKR 1,000,000.
- Government covers 67–75%; farmers pay 25–33% over 5 years.
Eligibility
- Punjab resident with valid CNIC/FRC.
- Own ≥1 acre of land in the application district (Fard-e-Malakiat proof).
- Own electric/diesel tubewell installed by October 30, 2024 (water table ≤60 feet).
- Electric tubewells: 3-phase connection, ≤15–20 kW, latest paid bill.
- Kissan Card required; no bank defaulters; one system per family.
Application Process
- Deadline: Closed January 6, 2025 (extended from December 31, 2024).
- Online: Apply at cmstp.punjab.gov.pk with CNIC, mobile number, tubewell details, documents (CNIC, Fard-e-Malakiat, bill, photo).
- Offline: Submit forms at Deputy Director of Agriculture offices.
- Balloting: 8,000 farmers selected January 31, 2025, from 530,000 applicants.
Implementation
- Installation: Vendors deploy solar panels, inverters, batteries; underway since February 2025.
- Training: Farmers trained on maintenance.
