Dollar Climbs Again – Rupee Weakens Further Against the Greenback latest UPDATE

In Pakistan, the value of the US dollar has gone up again. On May 18, 2025, one dollar is being sold for about Rs. 282 in banks and Rs. 282.25 in the open market. This increase is creating worry among people and businesses.
There are many reasons behind this change. One big reason is that Pakistan’s economy is not stable right now. Political issues, less foreign reserves, and high import costs are making things worse. Because Pakistan buys many things from other countries, a stronger dollar means everything becomes more expensive.

Also, inflation is a problem. Prices of daily items like food, fuel, and medicines are going up. This makes life harder for common people. Some experts also say that regional tensions are affecting the market and adding pressure on the rupee.
Because of these problems, the Pakistani rupee is losing its value compared to the dollar. People have started thinking more before spending money. Experts say the government needs to take strong steps to control the economy.
People are hoping that the situation improves soon, and that the dollar rate comes down to help reduce prices.
