Finally! BISP Web Portal is Open – Check Latest Update
On May 24, 2025, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) briefly activated the 8171 web portal for a few minutes. This was done only for testing purposes by the BISP technical team. It was not meant for public access. The portal was quickly taken offline after the short test run.
BISP officials have announced that the portal is now being upgraded and is expected to reopen fully on June 1, 2025, with new features and improvements to better serve the public.
Why Was the Portal Opened Briefly?
The temporary access was part of a system check. The purpose was to test the newly developed features and ensure everything was working properly. It allowed the officials to detect any issues and make final adjustments before the full launch.
What New Features Are Expected on June 1?
When the portal relaunches on June 1, 2025, users can expect the following updates:
- Online Registration: New users will be able to apply for BISP support directly through the website.
- Payment Tracking: Beneficiaries can check their past payments and see the status of upcoming payments.
- Complaint Section: Users will be able to submit and track complaints related to eligibility, payment delays, or other issues.

Eligibility Criteria for BISP 8171
To qualify for the BISP program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Monthly income should be below Rs. 50,000
- Poverty score must be under 34
- No government or semi-government job
- Should not own expensive property or vehicles
- Not receiving aid from other government welfare schemes
How to Check Status While Portal Is Offline
While the new portal is not yet live, you can still check your BISP status by:
- Sending your CNIC number via SMS to 8171
- Visiting your nearest BISP center for biometric verification and payment collection
