Pink e-Scooty Program Launched in Pakistan for Working Women – See Full Details

The Government of Sindh has launched a new project called the Pink E-Scooty Scheme, which aims to make travel easier and safer for women across the province. This program started in April 2025 and provides free electric scooters to female students and working women, helping them get around more independently.

Main Purpose of the Scheme

This scheme is part of the government’s broader plan to empower women by giving them access to reliable and environment-friendly transport. It follows other similar services like the Pink Bus and upcoming plans for a Pink Taxi. These efforts aim to make public transport safer and more inclusive for women in Sindh.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility Criteria)

To qualify for a free pink e-scooty, applicants must:

  • Be a female resident of Sindh.
  • Be a student or a working woman.
  • Have a valid driving license (motorcycle or car).
  • Agree not to sell or rent the scooter for at least 7 years.
  • Be ready to take a road safety test if chosen through the lottery system.

Women who are widows, students, employed, or registered under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) will be given preference.

Details of the Scheme

  • Total Scooters: 1,000 electric scooters.
  • Budget: The government has allocated Rs. 300 million, which is funded from external sources, so it does not impact the regular provincial budget.

  • Additional Support: Each selected woman will get:
