State Bank Rejects Rumors About Marked Pakistani Currency Notes

May 2025:
In recent days, false news has been circulating on social media, claiming that currency notes with any handwriting or pen marks will not be accepted after July 1, 2025. These reports also said that such notes can only be exchanged at banks until June 30, 2025.

To confirm the truth, media contacted the State Bank of Pakistan. The central bank completely denied these claims and called them wrong and misleading.

The chief spokesperson, Noor Ahmed, clearly said that the State Bank has not issued any notice about banning marked notes. He explained that currency notes are a national asset, and people should handle them carefully. But having a pen mark on a note does not make it invalid.

He also advised people to avoid believing in rumors and always trust official information from the State Bank.
